Yesterday we got a surprise reveal that Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions was partnering with Microsoft to
create a new cloud powered game. An ambitious undertaking that Kojima described as a game "no one has ever experienced or seen before". Cut to PlayStation fans expressing their concern.
In a way that reminds you that the platform wars are still a thing. Something that came to fore when Sony began releasing their AAA titles like
Horizon Zero Dawn on PC too, apparently PlayStation Exclusive is
a lifetime deal for some. In case of the Xbox and Kojima Productions collaboration, there was even an online petition to cancel the project that got over a thousand signatures almost immediately. Yeah, insanity.
As per above, Kojima Productions wrote, "After the announcement of our partnership with Microsoft using the cloud technology, many people have asked us about our collaboration with SIE. Please be assured that we continue to have a very good partnership with PlayStation as well."
So rest assured PlayStation fans, it sounds like the next game from the studio will indeed be coming to PlayStation.
