S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl's planned December 2022 release date got pushed to the sidelines earlier this year as conflict broke out in Ukraine - the location of development studio GSC Game World. As part of an extended Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase early this morning we got the official word that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is now due in 2023.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC, it's also a day one Xbox Game Pass release.

In addition to the above, GSC Game World and Xbox released the following Dev Diary that showcases the immediate and horrific impact the war has had on the team. New offices have been set up in Prague, Czech Republic, with many on the team still in the Ukraine. Fair warning, this is a heavy and tough one to watch.
