Australian and New Zealand Call of Duty fans, the Modern Warfare 2 ANZ Invitational, Sponsored by Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan is set to take place on December 17 - streaming live on the Call of Duty Twitch channel. The first Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 tournament for the region arrives just in time for the action-packed third season of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on Prime Video, which you can watch from December 21.
An 8-team invitational showdown like no other, the tournament is set to feature Call of Duty talent from across the region including iconic players, commentators, and even some special guests. The Modern Warfare 2 ANZ Invitational will take place at The Chiefs Esports epic gaming house in Australia, with competitors hunting each other in tense 4v4 Single Elimination matches through a Best of 3 Series and Best of 5 Final. With a massive $15,000 AUD prize pool up for grabs, no doubt all players will bring their absolute best.
Teams will consist of Captains made up of well-known Call of Duty players, streamers, and influencers. Captains will draft three players each from a vetted pool, with the bracket to then be seeded randomly. The 4v4 Tournament will make use of Call of Duty League rules for competition utilising a standard map and game type rotation.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the latest entry in Activision’s long-running series, featuring a cinematic globe-trotting single-player campaign and the next evolution in Call of Duty’s signature Multiplayer game modes including the launch of Warzone 2.0. And speaking of the deadly game of cat and mouse played on a global scale, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan stars John Krasinski as the titular CIA analyst on a mission to prevent global catastrophe.
Also starring Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly, the suspense and espionage-laden series is set to debut its third season on December 21 exclusively on Prime Video.
