Well, there's some dinosaurs in there, too, thanks to an update on Capcom's forthcoming dino horde mode shooter, Exoprimal, but other than that and some obligatory arcade collections, the key focus for this year's Capcom Showcase as part of Summer Game Fest is squarely on Monster Hunter and Resident Evil.
The full video above covers off content and title updates Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak which features a stack of new monsters to hunt alongside other gameplay additions. There's also a brief look at a couple of Arcade Collections, some featuring rare titles that have never seen the light of day outside physical arcades, while news that these will also have online functionality is a very welcome one indeed.
It all caps (heh) off with some great information surrounding Resident Evil with a brief but interesting look at Resident Evil 4 Remake, as well as the announcement of a significant update coming to Resident Evil Village. In October of this year players will be able to tackle all of Village again in third-person mode, engage in new additions to Mercenaries mode (called "Additional Orders), including new playable characters in Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg and fan-fave, Lady Dimitrescu, across new maps, and an all-new story-based expansion called Shadows of Rose.
In Shadows of Rose, events take place some many years after those played out in Village proper with a grown up Rose struggling to come to terms with her powers. She enters the consciousness of the Megamycete and comes across a doppelganger and more questions than answers. This is a full-blown sequel to the events of Village and can also be played in the third-person.
Also from today, new updates have been applied to the more recent Resi titles in Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Nemesis Remake and Resident Evil VII to take full advantage of next-gen hardware. This update applies higher frame rates at 4K as well as ray tracing and full 3D audio.
We'll have more on all of the above in greater detail soon, so be sure to stay tuned.
