But it might take a while, a long, long while. In a new interview
with IGN, Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard confirmed
Fallout 5's existence. Except that it'll come after The Elder Scrolls 6, which is still in pre-production on the account of Starfield being in the final stages of development.
"Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that," Howard said. "So our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well."
With Starfield beginning its development in late 2015, by the time that's released next year it will have been around 7 years. With The Elder Scrolls 6 to follow, and no doubt that will require a few years to create, it kind of sounds like Fallout 5 won't be a thing until after 2030.
This is something Todd Howard is aware of, as he added, "They do take a while, I wish they came out faster, I really do, we’re trying as hard as we can, but we want them to be as best as they can be for everybody."
