We got our first look at Tunic during the Xbox E3 2018 showcase where it's striking isometric visuals and very Legend of Zelda-like presentation definitely stood out. What began as a solo effort from Andrew Shouldice has since grown in scope over the years, with the game now finally out in the wild.
Available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S it's also making a Day One debut on Xbox Game Pass. Very cool.
"At first glance, Tunic may seem like a cute action-adventure game," writes Harris Foster, Senior Community Manager, Finji. "You play as a small fox in a big world, fighting monsters and exploring an ancient land. But don’t let its charming exterior fool you, Tunic’s combat will test your reflexes and its mysteries will challenge your perception."
This is a sentiment found across many of the reviews that have been cropping up, with Tunic sitting on a very respectable 87 on Metacritic. The combat difficulty and challenge is cited as a big plus, alongside the exploration of its colourful world.
