To any regular reader of this site, you're probably pretty aware that I have a very, very passionate place for the Tales of series, and its anime-heavy delivery of JRPG silliness filled and trope-laden characters. Tales of Symphonia for the GameCube to this day, remains my all-time favourite JRPG. Which says a lot, really, when you consider how many there are out in the wild.

So it should come as no shock then that I'm eagerly awaiting Tales of Arise. And that eagerness has only hastened after watching today's new The Spirit of Adventure trailer.

Why? Well, because you can fish. In your super OTT cosplay-for-the-ready outfits out in the wilderness as you trek the game's landscape. You can also cook and, of course, dig deep in character-specific vignettes to establish relationships and loosen character personalities.

In short, Tales of Arise is proving a personal and intimate adventure that will put personality above all else. But here's the official line on the new trailer and game:
On their epic journey to free the oppressed planet Dahna of Rena’s domination, Alphen, Shionne and their comrades will visit beautiful environments, meet formidable foes and experience various activities, like cooking, farming and fishing, all the while creating a unique bonds amongst themselves. This new video shows some of these activities, environments as well as the new revamped “skits” that players will be able to experience when that players will be able to experience when Tales of Arise releases on September 10 2021, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
