The spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee, is still on track to get a Nintendo Switch release but developer Playtonic has run into a bit of trouble. It seems that issues with the latest version of the Unity engine have resulted in "technical hurdles" that the team is trying to sort through.
Which means an exact launch date is up in the air, with Playtonic noting "We understand the frustration that it’s taken so long to get the game in your hands but we hope that you understand that we’re working as fast as we can and want the game to perform as well as it possibly can on Switch. Once these remaining issues are resolved we hope to finally be able to commit to and share a launch date".
Here's to the team sorting through these problems sooner rather than later, in the meantime be sure to check out our
