With the latest Xbox Showcase set to debut September 24 (a Thursday) at 10pm AEST. According to Microsoft its showing at the Tokyo Game Show digital event will focus on Japanese creators including the latest updates coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator and surprisingly Minecraft. In terms of Xbox Series X the announcement states "no new next-gen news".

Which means we could go another month before pricing and availability is formally announced, alongside the long-awaited reveal of the Xbox Series S console. Unless of course a surprise event arrives between now and the Tokyo Game Show that covers pricing and the Series X|S launch window. If only to add some semblance of sanity to 2020.

The event wont be entirely without new next-gen stuff though as the announcement promises "a review of first and third-party announcements from recent months", meaning we could get updated looks at titles running on actual Xbox Series X hardware. Hopefully we get a Halo Infinite update -- though odds are, with the delay, that might get skipped or brushed over.

In other Tokyo Game Show news both Resident Evil Village and Cyberpunk 2077 will have their own showings later that week -- so expect more next-gen goodness later this month.
