Microsoft has revealed that expectations are high for the first wave of indie titles on their new generation console, the Xbox One, stating that they expect an early 2014 release for said titles.

Although Sony may have taken the lead in courting indie titles at the launch of the PlayStation 4, ID@Xbox boss Chris Charla revealed to Edge that he predicts the first games out of the indie program will launch before the end of the first quarter of 2014.

“I think it will be early in the New Year, in the first three months. I would say closer to the third month. In terms of how many games there will be, it’s hard to say, because they’re still in development,” he said.

“Some developers started developing for Xbox One, others already had games in development and are working on Xbox One versions. I would say they’re at all stages of development, honestly.”

Microsoft recently took to their Xbox Wire website to go into depth on what you can expect from ID@Xbox, including titles like Divekick or Demiurge's Shoot Many Robots.
