Microsoft has finally unveiled the official release date for their next-gen console, dating the Xbox One for launch on November 22nd in 13 territories across the world. These countries include Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA.
We are humbled and gratified by the tremendous interest in Xbox One from game fans everywhere. We sold out of our pre-order supply faster than at any other time in our history and we are on path to have the biggest launch of an Xbox ever. We look forward to celebrating with millions and millions of gamers this holiday.
As a result of this incredible consumer demand and the development progress on Xbox One, I am thrilled to share that today we are making available a limited number of additional Xbox One Day One consoles for pre-order. We have coordinated with our retail partners to make it easy for you to reserve your Xbox One today.
Microsoft has also revealed the list of games on launch, which numbers 23 and includes titles like Ryse: Son of Rome and Capcom's Dead Rising 3. Find the full at the official website.
The choice of November 22nd also shares a ceremonial one for Microsoft, which was the same day that the Xbox 360 launched for the US, back in 2005.
Console competitor Sony revealed their PlayStation 4 launch dates during Gamescom, set for November 15th in the US and November 29th in EU, Australia and New Zealand.
Wow! The amount of hate that the Xbox one is getting on that video is insane hahaha. Pretty excited for both releases, although I'm hopping back on Sony's side again for this generation. The Xbox 360 let me down, and the Xbox One isn't sounding too good.
But yeah, both consoles have good and bad points. Personally my PS+ subscription lasts for another 10 months so I'm sticking to the PS4. Mose well get my value for money out of it!
I've got both preordered, but I think I may have put my PS4 order in a little late as I've got this giant warning from JB hi-fi saying "You might not get one because you were too slow b****".
At the time I wasn't sure which way to go, but I think I'm going to go PS4. While I think they have probably some of the better exclusive titles at launch, I just don't see that carrying through for the duration of the console. I played a lot more games on my PS4 than my 360.
Purely speculation but I think anyone who wants one should be able to get one at launch, the amount of pre-orders that get cancled due to people no longer being able to afford them is pretty high...
F*** I managed to snag a pre-order of GTA V CE last weekend cause some schmuck canceled, and it's sold out world wide

Hopefully, I mean, I guess I'm cancelling my Xbox One preorder, so yeah, I'm sure there's people doing the opposite. Such a chunk of money!
There is always that case with console pre-orders, heck I had both on pre-order but went Xbox One to begin with due to the (in my opinion) better lineup. I'll get a PS4 sometime down the track but I'm really eager to see this new Kinect, love my new tech!
Yeah, I've got an XBox One on pre-order for the same reason, launch lineup for PS4 held nothing of particular interest for me. I'll grab a PS4 sometime in the new year when they're back in stock.
Only downside is I wanted to wait and get AC4 on XBox One, but that means I'll have to wait a month before playing it since it comes out the end of October :(
i'm waiting for naughty dog's next game or ff15 before grabbing a ps4. xbone holds zero interest for me.
Yeah I think Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream will be the reason I grab a PS4 later next year, the rest are all shoulder shrugging at the moment. Never really fancied Killzone, Infamous I just couldn't get into and Knack is just a shinier version of Jak.
Majority of the indie titles announced at Sony's Gamescom were all timed exclusives so I'll get them later, and FF is coming to Xbox as well. Both these consoles are looking superb though, and hopefully we see a boost in AMD performance for PC as that will be the deciding factor on either 2x 770's or 2x 7970's.
is FIFA even popular in australia? i know it is in europe so that's why they're giving it for free. anyway, in europe, i believe buying a ps4 and fifa separately is still cheaper than xbone's bundle.
My co-worker ordered an xbox one from Microsoft directly online yesterday with no problems.
PS4 pre-orders it's still worth calling around to stores, friends who work at EB and JB HI-FI are telling me they get as many cancellations as new orders in a given week atm.

Not if you buy the PS4 camera.

hardly anyone is going to be buying a camera since there's very little use for it atm.
