The Xbox One March update has begun to roll out today, bringing with it a number of improvements across Microsoft's multiplayer services, including the introduction of the official Xbox One Twitch.tv app.
Other features included in the March update are further tweaks and bug fixes, changes to how matchmaking works in anticipation of Titanfall's release, cross title party chat, browser improvements and more. The update also offers improved audio output with SPDIF now supporting 5.1 Dolby Digital and HDMI supporting uncompressed 5.1 uncompressed, 7.1 uncompressed or 5.1 Dolby Digital live or 5.1 DTS.
How do you get the new update? For the vast majority of Xbox One owners who use “Instant On” (the low power state that allows you to instantly power up your console by saying “Xbox On”), the console automatically checks for updates when customers turn it off. This means that once we’ve made the March update available (late tonight, Pacific Time), the next time you turn your console off it will take the update during off-peak hours in your local time. Ultimately, you’ll see it sometime in the next day or two.
Microsoft's Xbox PR man Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has also revealed a complete guided tour of everything new in the Xbox One March update, which you can check out below, though a full run-down can be found on Hryb's blog here.
