Microsoft has today revealed that 26 new countries will soon be gianing access to local Xbox One purchases by the end of September, an increase from their original 13 launch countries that included Australia and New Zealand.
The news was made available
through a post on Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb's website, where it details countries such as Argentina, Belgium, Norway and South Africa. Hryb stated that Microsoft will have "much more to share at a local level towards the end of April," so for those in the new countries make sure you keep an eye out.
Alongside the news of country market expansion, Microsoft has also revealed
further details about the April update that current Xbox One owners can expect. The update is expected to add support for friend notifications, Blu-ray 50 Hz support, Kinect voice and motion improvements and is currently being rolled out across Microsoft's beta program.
Game and app saves and updates. A game save progress bar will show you the status of your game saves. You will also be able to easily tell what games and apps are being updated or have been updated recently.
Friends improvements. Notifications will be added to see when favorites and friends sign in to Xbox Live. This actually was one of the most frequently requested features from the first preview wave and we made it a priority to include it in the April update. Also, friends who are in multiplayer will be identified in the friends list. We’ll also add the ability to view friends’ most popular apps.
Kinect voice and motion improvements will continue to fine tune the quality and reliability of Xbox One commands.
Improved GameDVR video quality through compression algorithm improvements.
These features will become available to members getting the early previews in the coming days and weeks and will be available to the full Xbox Live community in April. You can read up on the full details over at
Xbox Wire.
