Microsoft has today announced that the long-awaited Twitch broadcast feature will be making its way to the new gen Xbox One console come March 11th, the same time that Titanfall drops down from the sky.

The new app will allow users to start broadcasting their game with the simple "Xbox, Broadcast" voice command. Along with broadcasting functionality, the updated Twitch app for Xbox One gets an enhanced viewing experience as well – Chat, Following, and Notifications are all coming in the update. For those viewing and chatting to the broadcaster, you'll have the chance to view live gameplay from any Twitch source, get notifications on favourite broadcasters going live, send party requests to Xbox One broadcasters, see Xbox Live friends that are broadcasting and integration of subscriber features.

"It's complete integration," Twitch CEO Emmett Shear told the AP. "It's exciting because we've never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters' party is really cool, and it's another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters."

"That's a very certain type of experience," said Xbox chief marketing and strategy officer Yusuf Medhi of Twitch on PS4. "For us, we thought that was too limiting for what our fans would want. Our fans really want the full next-gen service, so that's why we decided to take our time, do it right and have it come out in this fashion."
