According to a new report over at
Windows Central, industry insider Jez Corden is reporting that Xbox is planning to debut a new Xbox and Bethesda showcase later this month called Xbox Developer_Direct. It's set to feature games from Xbox and Bethesda with the likes of Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and Minecraft Legends making appearances.
The event currently has a date and time of January 25 at 12PM PT which will be early morning on January 26 for us Aussies. And it will stream on Xbox's Twitch and YouTube channels.
According to the report it marks a new Xbox initiative to present more regular updates and looks at Xbox titles outside of the standard E3 and summer showcases. Plus, with every major Xbox title for 2023 currently not having release dates we should probably expect to get dates for a number of games - specifically Bethesda and Arkane's Redfall, which is due in the first half of this year.
It certainly sounds like a shift to a more Nintendo Direct and PlayStation State of Play-like cadence for updates, which is great news for Xbox fans. Though the report notes that Xbox's biggest first-party title for 2023, Starfield, might skip this first stream - as it'll be getting its own showcase separately.
