A new major milestone in the Xbox for PC app, which is still in Beta, comes in the form of mod support. Supported by Into the Breach and Phantasy Star Online 2 so far, the functionality is a long way from the all-in-one integrated mods of Steam Workshop (in that there's no mod storefront) but points to a bright future for the Xbox Game Pass for PC platform.

Where titles like Cities: Skylines will no doubt benefit immensely from easy access to mods on PC. So far titles with mod support allow them to be enabled on a per-game basis which then brings up a warning - as mods can break or cause a game to no longer run as intended.

With publishers like Paradox including mod support in most if not all their titles, and its titles being available on the Xbox store (or as a part of Xbox Game Pass), we assume that this is the first step in integrating wider mod support and management natively in Windows 10. With the Xbox app also updated with a faster and cleaner interface running on new architecture and the Xbox Game Bar allowing easy access to recording and social - this is all very good news.

And now, four magic words - Halo: Infinite mod support.
