The official E3 cancellation news came through overnight from the ESA, and with Microsoft planning to use the event as its big Xbox Series X unveiling party Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter to confirm its plans are going digital.

"Given this decision, this year we'll celebrate the next generation of gaming with the Xbox community and all who love to play via an Xbox digital event," Phil wrote.

Ubisoft has followed suit, noting that it's "exploring options for a digital experience", "to share all the exciting news we have planned", as per below.

The official cancellation of E3 2020 - which of course attributes the move to growing concerns relating to the COVID-19 virus - also mentions that in addition to full refunds for attendees and exhibitors it's "exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020".
