As part of a new update arriving to the ports of World of Warships: Legends on November 25. With the big thing being cross-play between players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 - a first for Wargaming's console releases. The update also brings improvements to the UI and new maps.
In terms of cross-play specifics the move will reduce matchmaking times across both consoles without changing how matches play out or feel. Stuff like voice-chat across platforms and teaming up with friends is not included, pointing to this being the first step in a Wargaming cross-play future.
A sentiment reinforced by Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi who says, "Making sure that our players have the best experience possible is our biggest goal, so I’m excited that both sets of fans will be able to enjoy World of Warships: Legends together. This is just the first step in our cross-play efforts; it’s definitely something we want to build on in the future."
Also arriving in the November update is Ranked Battles, which will no doubt up the competitive nature of World of Warships. Plus, a huge Black Friday sale for the in-game storefront.
