Based on historical battles, two campaigns with three chapters each are coming to World of Tanks August 22 on console. The first campaign, Brothers in Armor focuses on Red Army soldiers fighting on the Eastern Front, with the second Flashpoint Berlin following a British solider attempting to break through a Cold War-era Berlin blockade.
"War Stories is the next evolution for our brand," said TJ Wagner, Creative Director and Executive Producer at Wargaming’s Chicago-Baltimore studio. "As the first campaign series in the World of Tanks universe, War Stories allows us to bring a new narrative to the game and expand on our multiplayer experience with engaging single-player and online Coop content for our new and longtime tankers."
Additional War Stories are also in the works including one, and this sounds pretty cool, that dabbles in "an alternate ending of the Cuban Missile Crisis". The War Stories will be told in-game via animated comic strips from renowned writers, and to cement the quality that we can expect Wargaming has tapped the musical talents of Inon Zur (Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Dragon Age: Origins) for the score.
War Stories will run on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One S and the PlayStation 4. With 4K output available for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro players. The former of which are yet to exist because the Xbox One X isn't out yet.
Anyway, this sounds like a very cool addition to the long running World of Tanks.
