Which makes sense, because the new mode was inspired by genre. Called 'Steel Hunter' twenty lone wolf tankers (or seven three-tank platoons) choose a spot to spawn on the brand-new city map called Dreamland. Designed specifically for this new World of Tanks mode. From there players will battle each other and fight for loot to become the sole surviving hunk of metal.
Twenty tanks go in, one tank leaves. Check it out.
The new loot mechanic extends to finding consumables and ammo and other goodies throughout the battlefield, with Battle XP earned from combat. Which can then be used to upgrade your tank.
“A fresh challenge in World of Tanks, Steel Hunter shows we’re not done experimenting. Last year, we tested the foundations of this mode,” states Max Chuvalov, Publishing Director, World of Tanks. “Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive response from our players, we decided to build on those foundations and create a fully-fledged mode that will get players even more excited!”
The new mode will be available from August 26 to September 16 .
