All done and wrapped is the Open Beta for World of Tanks and after 6500 games I can still rate it (see
my review) as a 7.8.
But wait, there's more:
- Premium tanks for those players who registered using special Closed Beta Test keys (M3 Stuart and Valentine) are to be assigned (extra slot included).
- Closed Beta Test participants registered prior to January 27, 2011 00:00:00 UTC with 1,000 or more battles played according to profile statistics are to be rewarded with M4A2E4 gift tank (extra slot included).
- Social contacts are to be removed (friends and ingnore lists).
- Registered clans and their members are to be carried over to the release.
- Hardwipe / full reset is to be performed: experience, gold, credits, research progress, modules, equipment, achievements and medals are to be reset.
Post-release, there will be no free in-game gold - it will cost USD$6.95 for 1250, USD$14.95 for 3000, or USD$99.95 for 25000.
Don't forget though, the game will be free to download and play, you don't have to buy gold. Progress through the ranks will be slow - but what do you expect for free?

Hard wipe blows. And they want us to pay them irl money for gold, pass. Don't particularly want to be stuck in a tier 5 tank...

I don't think I'll be paying any gold though, at least not until clan wars comes into play.
You can quite easily get up to tier 7 and play without losing money for free, which is good. The lower tier tanks are more fun anyway.

They seem really, really small and I've seen them lots of times on servers which have Maus and IS7's. Of course, with the day I'm having, I could be wrong :)

The M5 Stuart is a light tank (Tier IV) which can be placed in Tier 10 battles because it is a scout.
If all the players joined for battle weren't platooned (grouped) then they would never meet a Tier 10. But because many are platooned they will see them. This is also why Tier 1s platooned with higher tiers get into battles with Tier 10. The system does take into account their level but won't put another Tier 1 (it's equivalent) on the other side. So the other team is discounted overall which is quite irrelevant because a Tier 5 won't have trouble with a Tier 1.
The wiki explains it better though;

VTEC just kicked in, yo.
I'm aiming to unlock the T-54 eventually. A bastard of a medium tank, that one. Will be grinding for ages to get the points up.

I'll pretty much get all the top tanks...except SPGs. I don't like SPGs because not many people play them properly.

I'll be going up russian heavies again I think, with maybe american mediums. Not sure, yet.

eg: Small light tank is inside / underneath it's fire arc an unless it was willing to drop HE ontop of itself, it's s*** out of luck.
I honestly can't imagine that being difficult to code, with only slightly more complexity for proximity to buildings.

More accurately I mean, physically can't fire at an object closer than the end of the barrel.
