That's Bethesda's Pete Hines describing Machine Games follow-up to the excellent Wolfenstein: The New Order. And we're inclined to agree thanks to a sequence that involves a soldier dropping acid and then hallucinating that he has a tiny cartoon friend. Whilst a pregnant lady stabs a Nazi multiple times in the background. Yeah, this looks pretty damn awesome. And it's coming October 27.

There's so much packed into this 8 minute presentation of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus that it's hard to know where to begin. So we'll start with the beginning, which sets the scene via a few impressive old timey TV shows by the way of an alternate universe where Nazi's control the airwaves.

From there we get a look at a number of in-game sequences with details on the expected story. And plenty of action.

Wolfenstein II sends players to Nazi-controlled America on a mission to recruit the boldest resistance leaders left. Fight the Nazis in iconic locations such as small-town Roswell, New Mexico, the bayous and boulevards of New Orleans, and a post-nuclear Manhattan. Equip an arsenal of badass guns, and unleash new abilities to blast your way through legions of advanced Nazi soldiers and über soldiers in this definitive first-person shooter.

The game is also being built on id Tech 6, so expect it to look every bit as good as this when it launches later this year.

This and metro are among the handful of SP games I have enjoyed in recent years. Glad they are making more.

This actually looks pretty cool. The trailer makes it look like it might be a bit sandboxy which would be really interesting.

I still haven't played the last new Wolf & have heard OK things and it's probably cheap enough now to pick up for nothing.
