Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory first released back in 2003, as a multiplayer expansion of sorts to the excellent Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Developed by Splash Damage and created using id Tech 3 it's one of those titles that has remained a cult hit several years down the road. And now, on top of community servers keeping the game alive, Bethesda has launched a bunch of official dedicated servers for the nearly 20-year-old game.
A very cool move from Bethesda.
Though the community has hosted – and continues to host – servers with a variety of mods and custom maps that we highly recommend, we also understand that many players are looking for a more nostalgic experience.
So, starting now, you’ll be able to find official servers running the vanilla Enemy Territory Campaign ruleset, with all six original maps and no mods!
Game Type: Campaign
Maximum Players: 16 (8v8)
Friendly Fire: Yes
Punkbuster: No
Anti-Lag: Yes
Max Lives: Off
Weapon Restriction: Off
And with the severs covering US: Texas, EU: Netherlands, AU: Canberra, and UK: London - there's low-ping action awaiting fans from all across the globe. Getting to see Australia in the mix is awesome too, as like many old-school PC gamers, we've got fond memories of playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory at AusGamers.
