The length of a single-player or co-op campaign is always a hot topic with new games, and rightly so. Punters want to know they're getting their money's worth if a game is largely built around the solo or single friend experience, and with Capcom's forthcoming Resident Evil 6, where you play through three separate storylines, it looks like time investment is not a concern.

Speaking with the PlayStation Blog, Resi 6 producer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, reckons each storyline is roughly "70 per cent to 80 per cent of the volume of the whole game in Resident Evil 5", which if players of that game will remember, wasn't lacking in the length department either (though its horror element is another issue entirely).

Elsewhere in the chat, Hirabayashi quells concerns the game is just an action-fest (something all the E3 media had us concerned about), by reminding us that the game is still very much Resident Evil.

"With the weapons and items, it’s all in real time," he explained of weapon and item management. "That’s not to say that you’re going to have plenty of bullets for a hundred different weapons. It’s still survival-horror, you need to have those limits in order for the game to work. You’ll have to manage your resources in terms of having guns and ammo, but you won’t be popping in and out of a menu like you’ve seen before. It’s much more fluid."

We'll have more on Resident Evil 6 in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned.

Resi 6 is due to arrive on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this October.

Operation Raccoon city wasn't a real RE game, plus it was a piece of s***. This is the next proper RE game in the series since RE5.
