Thanks to Bethesda Softworks, AusGamers has a The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim competition with some pretty damn neat prizes.

Three runners-up winners will be able to snag the game on their platform of choice (so one winner per platform), along with a snazzy t-shirt (and let's face it, we all need clothes) while a main-prize winner will get the Collector's Edition (Xbox 360), a soundtrack, the same shirt and a signed and numbered Skyrim poster.

We know how much you all love our X-words or less competitions too ;
All you need to do to win one of these great prize packages is tell us in 50 words or less:

What Dragon Shout you would use in your everyday life, and why?

For those unsure about Dragon Shouts in The Elder Scrolls Skyrim, they're ancient words from the dragon language that, to anyone other than a dragon, can be devastating. Examples of Shouts from the game are Unrelenting Force - which is essentially like a Force Push. Fire Breath - self explanatory. Animal Allegiance - will turn any animals targeted in your shout to your side. Marked For Death - damages enemy armour and drains their life essence during battle.

There are 20 shouts overall, but remember we're after creative answers, so you can just make up your own shout if you like, derived from the types available listed above.
We're running this baby for a week, so get into it now!

Click here to enter.

Warning: Looking up shouts on the net will give you a better understanding of their function, but you may come across spoilers, so tread carefully.

I still haven't played it yet so how do I know what Dragon shouts there are? Or have I missed the point entirely that the comp is more about making it up :S

I'm not funny or creative so I usually don't even get a look in on these things... but entered all the same.

I assumed that the question asks 'Which of the 20 Dragon Shouts available to you in Skyrim, would you use in your everyday life, and why?'

The question is worderd wierd though... but thats what I interpreted. Also; "and the why?"

So we can make up shouts now?

Bah, I wouldn't have been able to come up with anything good anyway.

Thats how I read it Hog but on the 3rd (4th?) Edit of his post Steve added this;

Yeah, I kind of wrote it originally not thinking about people who weren't that familiar with the game's system, and I always assume people are going to be stupidly creative in these things anyway - so as long as it's along the lines of the powers exampled, and I can imagine a dragon and a dragonborn (you) doing it, it's open season

Yeah, because I totally dictate all the prizes we're given...

This is one of only a small handful Aus-wide that's even been offered to sites to give away - all the other outlets have 360 as well. Out of our hands unfortunately.

You would have to be pretty stupid to think Farrelly actually picked out the prizes or even authorised the competition.

Well I did authorise it, but more often than not with comps we're only offered what is set aside from a marketing budget within a PR firm of publisher for such comps.

You can still win a PC copy of the game and a shirt, and where possible I always ask if we can get copies on all platforms, because, you know, AusGamers covers all platforms...
