Although Days Gone has a PlayStation 4 release window of the first half of 2019, over the weekend we got a polished look at the game thanks to a play-through of the entire first hour courtesy of Game Informer. With Sony's Bend Studio providing narration it showcases the narrative-heavy introduction in addition to some of the mechanics players can expect in this open-world post-apocalyptic action-adventure.

Including survival aspects, crafting, and even some Batman or Witcher-like detective work tracking footprints through the wilderness.

Taking control of a bounty hunter meets biker called Deacon St. John (aka Starkiller from the Force Unleashed series) in a world overrun by 'Freakers' even in this Alpha state things are looking pretty impressive. From the dynamic weather through to detailed environments and character detail. Being the first hour of the game a lot of it is scripted, but hints at the open-world nature of the overall game. You can also check out an extended look at the post-intro missions here.
