As in the bad guy from Donkey Kong 64, who makes an appearance in Smash Bros. title for the first time – in a line-up that includes every fighter, every stage, and every mode ever featured in the long-running series. Which quite literally puts the Ultimate in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Launching December 7 for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo has released some direct-feed gameplay footage featuring a couple of battles.

Including a 1 v 1 battle between Snake versus King K. Rool in a Donkey Kong stage.

And a 2v2 franchise retirement battle between Fire Emblem and Metroid. Well, not the retirement part.
