Not sure why it needed to be a "Red Band Trailer" given the series' brutality in the first place, but overnight Mortal Kombat: Scorpion's Revenge -- was revealed to the world; an equally OTT take on the character not too far out of line with some of the DC animated flicks (which have trumped the live-action stuff for years). And guess what... it's brutal.
Western animation has aligned inside in the more recent years with longstanding anime, so animation expectation here should be easy to relay. However, they are embracing the series' history of bucking prenatally-friendly trends, almost like millenials coming up against boomers, but maybe that's a conversation for another time.
Here's the "Get Over Here":
One of the most popular videogame franchises in history comes to animated life in "Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge," an all-new, feature-length film produced by Warner Bros. Animation in coordination with NeatherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The film arrives from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital starting April 12, 2020, and on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on April 28, 2020
