Playing to the over-the-top art style and overall nature of the original looter-shooter, this latest Borderlands 3 trailer is a pure celebration of the series' art, style and absolute lack of sophisticated grace (in a good and fun way).

Earlier in the week we were given an invite, accompanied by a rose and a mask. In normal circumstances, it's the sort of thing we'd report to the police, but knowing 2K Australia as well as we do, we understood the good intentions behind the gesture. And so confident were they in the subsequent product by way of the "So Happy Together" videogame music video (VGMV), the follow-up email pointing us in the video's direction came with zero words. So to flesh out this post, here's a snippet from our earlier-in-the-year hands-on preview with Borderlands 3:
One of the more interesting concepts is in level balancing and “loot instancing” in co-op play. The former means someone at a higher level playing with someone at a lower level will face enemies appropriate to their level, meaning rewards are reflective of your level, so anyone can join in with anyone and not feel like they’re being short-changed or are just there as an effective level boost for the lower level player. The latter means each player receives their own stream of loot, again appropriate to their level. And co-op remains drop-in, drop-out. There was no mention of cross-platform play, but as it looks like 2K and Gearbox have teamed up with Xbox, it might be safe to assume that there will be at least PC to Xbox crossplay.
Watch the trailer embedded below. Borderlands 3 releases this September 13 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
