Making its debut on the Ubisoft stage at E3, The Crew 2 is set to be a very different racing game to the first one even though it essentially provides the same setting -- an open world U.S.A. Giving players the opportunity to both explore and race with boats and planes in addition to cars is the first giveaway. With the second being a bright and vibrant arcade presentation that reminds us of the Forza Horizon series.

Perhaps the best takeaway from the following clip has to be part where the car racing takes place on top of New York City buildings. Yeah, it looks great. And fun.

Another thing that points to the new approach is that the team is taking liberties with its representation of the U.S. with a network of rivers making it possible to go from one end of the country to the other, in a boat. The Crew 2: 'I'm On A Boat!' is on track for an Early 2018 release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
