Halo The Master Chief Collection on PC is getting Halo 3 this week and ahead of its launch we had the chance to check it out - running in 4K at 60 frames-per-second. And the results didn't disappoint, with this looking a lot better than the sub-HD Xbox 360 original. Mostly, it allowed us to continue the fight on PC as the next Halo to drop as part of the collection.
Here's the intro and opening mission. As it's been a while since I played this, I, err, keep 'accidentally' shooting the Arbiter.
Interestingly you don't have any direct control over the visuals in the same way you do over controls/key bindings and things like FOV slider - in that this is the 'Enhanced' mode. It would have been nice to be able to adjust additional high-end effects or have direct control over AA, textures, etc. That said it's still a great looking remaster, and the PC controls are responsive. With Halo 4 coming up next - we can't wait to see what that looks like on PC. The 360 original was one of the best looking games on that console.
