Update: Forum user Mordecai has pointed out that the below specifications are not true, with Ubisoft's Graphics Technical Director for Watch Dogs Sebastien Viard confirming via Twitter that the "real specs will come out soon and will be lower than these." Good news for those who may have feared for their computers.

Ubisoft has accidentally revealed the PC specifications for their upcoming open-world title Watch Dogs through the Uplay store, however has now pulled the page but not before NeoGAF was able to save the details.

According to the page Watch Dogs on PC will only be supporting 64-bit operating systems, a new trend that seems to be gaining pace thanks to other titles like Battlefield 4's open beta. The game also looks to be requiring some newer tech, outlining that the minimum specifications needed to run Watch Dogs are a DirectX 11 GPU with at least 1GB of VRAM, a quad core CPU and at least 4GB of RAM. Example GPUs include a NVidia GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770 and a Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 or AMD Phenom X4 9750.

For those wanting to hit the recommended specifications, you'll be looking at a DirectX 11 card with at least 2GB of VRAM, an eight core CPU and 8GB of RAM. Examples given for GPUs are the NVidia GTX560 ti or AMD Radeon HD 7850 and for CPUs the Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core CPU.

Not to be outdone, those who want to push to "Ultra" specifications will be in need of at least 2GB of VRAM on a DirectX 11 GPU, at the very least eight cores for your CPU and also 8GB or more. An NVidia GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 will be handy examples of GPUs hitting that specification, and Intel Core i7-3930k or AMD FX-9370 Eight-Core for CPUs.

Is your computer ready to handle the streets of futuristic Chicago? Or will it burst into flames at the sight of the game? Let us know in the comments below.

Well I got a 7970 but only an i7-3770 so maybe I'll have to keep some of the CPU options on very high.

Eight AMD cores though, thats like a dual core Intel cpu.

Yeah.. considering Intel don't sell an 8 core processor (unless you count Xeon's) I'd take the 8-core CPU with a heaping pile of salt. I'd wager any relatively new quad-core processor will do fine, especially if it has HT giving 8 threads. I'll be surprised if they use 8 threads honestly..

Awesome, some will b**** as always, but it's good to see games that push the boundaries.

I remember when Crysis did this s***, forcing people to buy the most expensive hardware just to run it at all. My computer would probably run it but Watch Dogs through the Uplay store, lol uplay lol. No.

With such steep requirements I wonder what does this game will have more than the rest in the first place. The GPU part I can understand but an 8 Core CPU? I think a quad core i5 or higher will do well enough.

I guess I'll let benchmarks speak on this one.

Well that sounds like me they only saying quad cores and 8HT i think they are getting mixed up. Also will the game come to steam?????

Previous Ubisoft games have, and Uplay has been downplayed a lot in recent times so we may see a non-Uplay version on Steam.

I don't know Eorl, I dont think we will see no uplay (would be nice), but honestly it seems to be a lot less intrusive these days or they have at least worked out some of the more annoying issues with it anyway.

I really hope this watch dogs lives up to the hype.. 2 more months and we will find out I guess.

does it matter, those are the recommended specs, and with the way that the mid/high level i Intel cpu's go i reckon if you've a sandy vadge i5 or newer, 4 cores and 4 threads, you'd be fine

Hello. Ce ne sont pas les configs officielles. Les vraies specs sortiront bientôt et seront moins élevées que celles-ci :)

Hey Bad have you tried BF4 beta yet? How does the 670 handle? I've got a 3770k and 570 factory overclocked but its running pretty harsh even with everything on medium. Have a feeling its time to upgrade my GPU soon...

Edit: Thanks Mord, updated OP! Rejoice for our computer may not explode now.

i hope its a little lower as i wanna buy a new computer but think i should wait just little bit to see what PC games are going to be like once the new consoles release. Can see the trend now that is it will be only 64bit OS only

Did they seriously recommend a 3930k for Ultra?

There's a big diff between that CPU and stuff below it too..

Depending on how much bang you want from an upgrade, running a single 680 isn't enough for all Ultra + 4x AA at 1080 60fps. Unless that's just beta code talking for now.

If you're a graphics nut, there is a Supersamping (rendering resolution) option which you can set to 200% and it'll bring most systems to their knees.

The most VRAM I can make BF4 use at 1080p is 3.4GB - way past the bandwidth of my GPUs memory controller. With 4k or surround, that will surely be in the 5-6GB mark, even a Titan can't handle that much VRAM at 60fps.
