Ahead of this year's E3, Ubisoft has jumped their own gun, *cough* hacking *cough* their own announcements by a few days with a full unveiling of Watch Dogs 2: Enter the Hacker's World. Alongside a new trailer, they also gave up information on the core game, its release date and a number of pre-order options.

WATCH_DOGS 2 is the product of over two years of intensive development by the original creative team behind the Watch Dogs brand. The topics of data security and privacy as well as hacking are more current than ever in today’s society, and the Watch Dogs brand has been exploring these themes ever since the release of the first opus in 2014. WATCH_DOGS 2 offers a fictional environment linked to problematics players can relate to, while offering a high quality piece of entertainment as they explore the San Francisco Bay Area with Marcus Holloway.

Players enter a massive and dynamic open world environment set in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is the latest city to adopt ctOS 2.0, an advanced operating system networking the city infrastructure, and in the wrong hands, ctOS 2.0 can be used to invasively control and manipulate everyday citizens.

Players will explore the birthplace of the tech revolution as Marcus Holloway, a brilliant young hacker who has fallen victim to ctOS 2.0’s predictive algorithms and is accused of a crime he did not commit. In Marcus’ quest to shut down ctOS 2.0 for good, hacking is the ultimate weapon, and players can not only hack into the city’s infrastructure but also every person and any connected device they possess to trigger unpredictable chains of events. With the ability to take control of drones, cars, cranes, security robots, and much more at their disposal, players can choose whether to use stealth hacking to complete missions without killing a single enemy or go guns blazing for a more ferocious approach. In this vast open world, players can hack their way through traffic while engaging in dangerous car chases through the winding streets of San Francisco, traverse the rooftops of the vibrant neighborhoods of Oakland, and infiltrate the offices of cutting-edge companies in Silicon Valley.
Taking the game to the "birthplace of Silicon Valley" is a clever idea and San Francisco is large and complex city, which should make for an interesting stomping ground.

"Our creative team is working hard to deliver an outstanding WATCH_DOGS experience,” said Dominic Guay, Senior Producer, Ubisoft Montreal via press release. “In WATCH_DOGS 2, we’re excited to give players a captivating storyline with engaging characters that offers deeper, more meaningful hacking options, a greater variety of gadgets and weapons, and a brand new seamless multiplayer experience that will appeal to fans of the original WATCH_DOGS as well as players new to the brand."

You'll be able to play Watch Dogs 2 from November 15 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In addition to the new trailer which you can watch below, after the video you can also check out the pre-order options.

wtf was that?

I bet the game that actually ships looks more like Minecraft than it will that video.

The first Watch Dogs was easily the most regretful video game purchase I've ever made. The game ran terribly on PC not to mention it also looked worse than advertised and in general the gameplay was pretty boring. Watch Dogs 2 is going to have to score 10s across the board for me to even consider picking it up 2 years later for 10 bucks during a steam sale.

I found the first Watch Dogs pretty boring, with the worst storyline I've ever come across in a game. And they also didn't deliver what they'd promised, at all, so there's not a hope in hell I'm getting this.

Watch Dog's wasn't that amazing, it was ok though. I enjoyed playing through the story for the most part. It definitely wasn't what it was sold to be sadly.

As it's recently been shown off in videos, ubisoft love to pump out those pretty trailers yet deliver a lower quality game. So walk into this expecting that and the amount you are disappointed should be low. Will probs buy when it's on special.
