In response to the recent community backlash against the current state of the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight (hint: it's not great), Warner Bros is suspending all digital sales of the game as it works to address all the issues.
Issues like frame-rates grinding to a halt when taking the Batmobile for a spin, and constant stuttering that virtually destroys the series' signature free-flowing action. Also the game is locked to 30fps and even when unlocked (via editing a .ini file) performance remains similar for a lot of players, ie not that great, no matter what the graphics settings.
The following statement was posted to the official forums.
Dear Batman: Arkham Knight PC owners,
We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards. We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.
Thank you to those players who have already given valuable feedback. We are continuously monitoring all threads posted in the Official Batman: Arkham Knight Community and Steam forums, as well as any issues logged with our Customer Support (support.wbgames.com). If you purchased your copy of the game and are not satisfied with your experience, then we ask for your patience while these issues are resolved. If desired, you can request a refund at help.steampowered.com (Steam refund policies can be found here, or the retail location where you purchased the game.
The Batman: Arkham fans have continually supported the franchise to its current height of success, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver an updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC so you can all enjoy the final chapter of the Batman: Arkham series as it was meant to be played.
An unfortunate blow to what is essentially
Game of the Year in its current console form -- a note we've since added to our review to clarify that the console version we played was as good as the body copy and score reflects, and that we weren't made aware of any PC issues ahead of launch.

Mate, the way the review side of things works is a bit different to a utopian concept of everything for everyone, regardless of choice. In order to be timely with particular games, we (read: ALL gaming publications unless platform-specific) are at the hands of the suppliers of those review codes.
We tried reviewing a game late to get the full skinny on it, and were met with criticism about not being timely, so we've gone back to being timely, and are now met with criticism about reviewing on the available platform for said review.
It's just not how it works, and while we're of the idea it should change, we're not in a position to change it, rather we're more open to admitting when one platform fails to deliver the same product as the one we reviewed on. It's the nature of the beast and something that just needs to be taken on board.
For the record, I have full faith Rocksteady will fix the PC issues because the other two PC Batman releases they've done have been handled as well as their console counterparts and in one case, graphically better even.

The original game would be made for console, hence you review the real version
You version of ideal differs to mine

Just something for us to have a quick glance at before reading on so we are aware, I mostly PC myself but I know there have even been games in the past that have had issues between their different console versions so could be a nice feature.

In the ideal world you could choose the version to review. But no, it doesn't work like that and cluster f**** like this situation happen.

So did you get the game Audi?
The reviews generally do include which platform was used.
Also would nay of the frothers out there that did pre order/pre load hows it running for you?

Seriously though, I shouldn't be giving video game exec producers any bright ideas. :(
Posted 07:56pm 25/6/15
I know they mention it in the review but just something in the title or a header so we could pass on it and search for a review on platform of choice might be nice.
I didn't buy it held off to see how it ran on the PC, been burnt too many times on AAA console port preorders so now I wait and see

I personally wouldn't mind small additional edit of a review following the release detailing any differences between platforms. I don't own a console but I know people that own both so a basic performance/port check for PC would be nice when available and for the multi-console owners perhaps a breakdown of which is better or no significant difference.

I've been playing it on PC, and the port is heinously optimised. Memory leak causes frames to dip, and the 30fps lock is weird because the in-engine cinematic sections play in 60fps. I've edited the .ini file to get it up to 60fps (mostly), but I've had to turn off the NVIDIA smoke (otherwise everything else is on full settings for my 980) to get between 40-60fps. The batmobile f**** the frames pretty hard, though: it sometimes drops to 30ish.

we all know how this would roll if it were EA

Good man.

It wasn't until after the launch I found out that the PC port was outsourced and Rocksteady had nothing to do with it. I hope now Rocksteady has taken over the port and will update it so it runs better.
Either way I'm like 80% in the main story and loving it. It's f*****g amazing and the voice acting is incredible. So is the music.

I could be completely wrong but certainly, console ports are not cool.
