Previously planned for a May 11 release, the upcoming Diablo-like action-RPG set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe is now slated for June 5 and will be out across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The delay, naturally, is to allow for a final round of polish. But today's news also drew some controversy.

Mainly because one of the producers noted in a Steam update that,

"Again, sorry for this as we kindly ask for your further patience and hopefully it won’t be a deal breaker for any of you. In return, we promise we’ll push this extra three weeks in 90+ hours per week so it’ll be very-very useful for Martyr."

Which naturally caused people to question the nature of late-development cycle crunch. Where 90+ work weeks are unfortunately more common than not in the videogame industry. The update has since been amended and an official response provided to PC Gamer,

"It sounded ironic in Hungarian," a representative said. "I would like to make it clear that we don’t force people to work 90 hours a week of course, even the three producers/owners don’t do it, although they have the longest working days. We at Neocore Games all consider Inquisitor as our own love project and it’s true that we’re working hard on it in this final rush but we gladly make those sacrifices for a great result."

In any event the studio behind the deep and rewarding "The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing" series is passionate about the upcoming release of Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr.
