The first open-world expansion for Warframe, Plains of Eidolon, released in October 2017 - and with the more recent release of the excellent Fortuna expansion developer Digital Extremes has decided to give the Plains a visual overhaul. From better textures and lighting to an improved day/night system and even environment detail.

The update is already available on Steam (PC), and the improvements look impressive.

The reasoning makes sense too, with the new tech created for Fortuna - it makes sense to update the Plains to ensure they look better than ever. Though, with all of the updates coming to Warframe, we're not sure where Digital Extremes found the time. The update also brings some new things to the Plains outside of pretty visuals, with the new Tusk Thumper enemies showcased in the trailer above - being giant robotic enemies to take down.

As per above, the update is available right now on PC - with console versions to get the overhaul "soon".
