War of the Vikings publisher Paradox is opening the game up free-to-play for this weekend only, allowing any interested players the chance to check out the melee-combat multiplayer title in its beta state with zero dollars up-front.

Currently available in Beta via Steam Early Access, War of the Vikings will appear for free in every Steam member’s library from December 5, 2013 until December 8, 2013. Players can purchase War of the Vikings in Early Access to keep playing after the weekend is over and enjoy the game up to and beyond its official release.

Early access to War of the Vikings is currently available for US$19.99 via the game's Steam page, and a new trailer can be enjoyed below.
