After the surprise announcement from earlier this year, Paradox Interactive has finally lifted the lid - or opened the coffin - to showcase some gameplay footage for the highly anticipated Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. And in case you were concerned at all, it looks brilliant.
The trailer is definitely cinematic in its approach but we get to see glimpses of exploration, how the camera can switch between first and third-person viewpoints, and the various sights and sounds and Vampire clans of Seattle. And yes, there's a nightclub.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is the successor to the cult-classic Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and features reactive storytelling, fast-paced combat, and compelling characters with their own hidden motives. Created in an act of vampiric insurrection, players start the game as a fledgling Thinblood whose existence ignites a war among the vampire factions in Seattle. To survive in vampire society, players will enter into uneasy alliances with Seattleās factions and join one of the full-blood vampire clans while stalking the city streets for prey, manoeuvring complex political relationships, and balancing the need for blood against their withering humanity.
Also, it does a great job of presenting the branching dialogue choices and the differences between the clans. Plus, it highlights the dark yet vibrant night-time setting and the need to drink blood to survive. And power abilities. It looks fantastic even in this pre-release state.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will launch on PC and consoles in Q1 2020.
