Epic Games has released another video in its series of behind the scenes technology demonstrations for the Unreal Engine 4, this time discussing how they created the 3D volume texture explosion in the impressive Infiltrator Demo.

In the eight minute clip, developers Francois Antoine and Zak Parrish walk through the process step by step, describing the workflow of creating the virtual pyrotechnics. Check it out below.

that's kind of cheating...yeah it's being done in real time, but it's not real time volumetrics.
