There's very little to go on, but by way of the official Prince of Persia Facebook page, Ubisoft has hinted that Prince of Persia fans can expect something new to emerge from the sands of time in the next week:

Get ready for some news about Prince of Persia, starting next week...

Formerly one of Ubi's tentpole franchises, it's been almost five years since the prince's last reboot, with several rumours of a new game having come and gone in that time and the similarly-themed Assassin's Creed franchise having largely filled its place in the publisher's stable.

Whether a new announcement will even be a game is uncertain. Ubisoft has been expanding their film and television production capabilities in recent years, so it's anyone's guess. Stay tuned.
