Which is due to both the Origins and Odyssey teams working separately and it just lined up that this year we'd be getting another entry in the long running series. The official word came from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot who confirmed the speculation in a new interview with
Gamespot.
"On Assassin's, we had a game [in 2018] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin's next year," said Guillemot. "It's just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you're not going to have a fully fledged one."
The note about fully-fledged might point to a potential spin-off for the series but is probably just in reference to the larger RPG focus of Odyssey - and that like with many Ubisoft titles players can expect support in terms of new content well into 2019.
And speaking of Assassin's Creed Odyssey we recently went hands-on with the game at Gamescom, and were
thoroughly impressed - and taken aback by just how challenging and detailed it was.
