This morning Ubisoft announced Assassin's Creed Chronicles -- a trilogy of 2.5D games that would focus on three separate narratives from three different characters from within the expanded Assassin's Creed canon.

All three games are being developed out of the UK by independent studio, Climax (Silent Hill: Shattered Memories) in conjunction with Ubisoft Montreal. Each will follow an existing character from transmedia that exists within the known Assassin's Creed universe, kicking off on April 22 with Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China featuring Shao Jun who appeared in the animated short Assassin's Creed: Embers.
Players will embody legendary Assassins, including Shao Jun from the animated short Assassin’s Creed Embers™, and Arbaaz Mir and Nikolaï Orelov from the Assassin’s Creed graphic novels. Slay from the shadows, master the art of parkour and take the leap of faith in a collection of stunning, living paintings. Each chronicle has its own artistic signature, from the beautiful brush paintings of China to the vibrant colors of India and the distinctive propaganda art style of Russia.
There's no word on pricing or the release dates of the follow-up games, but anyone who purchased a season pass for Assassin's Creed: Unity will get China for free.
