Ubisoft had been disturbingly quiet on the particulars of the PC version of their upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, despite their terrible track record of poor treatment of PC customers with delayed releases, draconian DRM and even the fact that at one point they had told us it wouldn't be coming to PC at all
because you're all pirates, but today they've confirmed a lot of desktop-details and we have to say, they're actually somewhat redeeming.
Although the PC game won't land on May 24th 2012 with it's console counterparts, it will only be a few weeks behind -- not the usual months -- with the official PC date being revealed as June 14th 2012. As for DRM, a press release explains that copies of the game will require activation and launch-authentication with Uplay, but no permanent connection outside of multiplayer -- so the same as any Steam or Origin game basically.
Most surprisingly, they're also packing some platform-exclusive features to take advantage of the PCs strengths.
- PC high standard visuals (DX11 renderer, new Hi-Quality Assets, new Post Process Effects, multi-monitor solutions support, TriDef stereoscopic support).
- DirectX11 enhanced: Tessellation (for soft 3D models), Compute Shaders-based realistic lighting (for Global Illumination), Volumetric Fog.
- Online Widget: Party, Friends and Ghost Feed functionality can be accessed at any moment from any screen.
- Extended party functionality: simplified and more flexible invitation system.
- Party text Chat.
- Uplay Friends system
- Fully customizable controls for the localized keyboards

You must not have played either of the recent Ghost Recons.

I did and they both were dumbed down versions. Not bad but more action based rather than suspense strategy. Return to the original please. Got the collectors edition a while back with all the expansions. Awesome game.
TBH i dont have high hopes for this as i think it will be somewhat similar to crysis 2 in the use of futuristic soldiers.
