The previously
Nintendo exclusive series from designer
Suda51 and
Grasshopper Manufacture is coming soon to
PC (via
Steam) and
PS4. With the studio making the announcement at fan convention MomoCon. With the third and most recent title in the series
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes coming sometime in the future. No release date or window has been set.
Here's hoping this paves the way for the first two Wii-exclusive No More Heroes games to get the port treatment, as Travis Strikes Again wasn't exactly the comeback we were hoping for. Presented as an indie affair that sees Travis being sucked into a long-lost and cursed console to adventure and cause havoc across various mini-games, the premise was definitely at the level we've come to expect with No More Heroes.
But, as per
our review:
"The problem is that outside of a handful of minor mini-games or sequences, Travis Strikes Again fails to live up to its premise. Or, even as a competent retro-inspired indie game. No matter the Death Ball or supposed genre or style of game, outside of some visual differences, what you get is a simplistic, linear brawler that outstays its welcome almost immediately."
That said, we're still keen to check out Travis Strikes Again on PC, just to see the series and protagonist Travis Touchdown on the platform. And hey, if enough of us buy and put up with its mediocrity - perhaps there will get a No More Heroes 3 proper.
