Ancient China! Very cool. And really when it comes to the announcement of the next game in the Total War series, the big question is always what era/region will it take place in. As per the description, "It is 190CE and China is in turmoil." Do go on.
The Han Dynasty crumbles before the child-emperor, who is a mere puppet for the tyrant Dong Zhuo. The brutal and oppressive regime’s power grows as the empire slips further into anarchy. Yet hope blossoms in the form of three heroes, sworn to brotherhood in the face of calamity. Warlords of great families follow suit, forming a fragile coalition in a bid to challenge Dong Zhuo’s remorseless rule. The future of China will be shaped by their hands, but personal ambition threatens their already crumbling alliance.
And here be the announcement trailer.
Best news of all is that Total War: Three Kingdoms is due for release in the second half of this year. If this announcement came any earlier, we would have added it to our most anticipated for 2018 list - which you can check out here.
