After launching in early April under the rebranded Ghost Recon Phantoms name, Ubisoft's free-to-play third-person shooter has now officially launched local Australian servers to help offer a more local edge.

Corey Facteau, producer on Ghost Recon Phantoms said “We are thrilled with the number of active players which just passed the one million mark. We are seeing a lot of new players from newly opened territories including Australia and Brazil as well as countries where the game had been available during open beta.”

In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms players are able to compete in a number of different game modes, alongside a large arsenal of weaponry and gadgets to help complete the job. Players will step into the boots of an elite Ghost and deploy cutting-edge weapons and technology as you link up with your squad to dominate your enemies on tomorrow’s battlefield. Facteu also stated that “We [Ubisoft] are going to continue improving Ghost Recon Phantoms by releasing regular new content in game, and we are looking forward to seeing what suggestions these new territories have and how it will help us shape the future of the game.”

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms is available as a free-to-play title through Steam for Windows PC only.
