The '90s relic where you race through streets in cars and get bonuses for running over pedestrians. Naturally, it was seen as controversial and as a franchise used that angle to garner some moderate popularity. Even though, as a racing game with vehicular combat, it was fairly average or forgettable. Which is a personal opinion, making this new acquisition by THQ Nordic less exciting than say the publisher getting the rights to Alone in the Dark.
Fun fact, a Carmageddon game came out last year that the world forgot about. Here's its launch trailer.
THQ Nordic acquired the rights from the original developers Stainless Games, a studio that has been involved with just about every Carmageddon release. It'll no doubt be interesting to see what the publisher has in store for the franchise.
