With
CD Projekt RED making the announcement over the weekend, confirming that the award winning RPG is set to get a facelift for
PlayStation 5,
Xbox Series X, and
PC. The studio promises "a range of visual and technical improvements" coming to
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in addition to a free update for those that own the game on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content.
The next generation edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, as well as a free update for everyone who already owns the game on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
As per above CDPR plan to optimise the game for faster loading too, which is nice. And with the PC version also getting the next-gen bump this probably means we'll see DLSS support arrive to improve ray-tracing performance -- a GeForce RTX feature that has been confirmed for Cyberpunk 2077's PC release.
