It was promised for a long time and now almost a year after the PC version launched to wide acclaimed, the Xbox 360 version brings CD Projekt's gritty RPG franchise to console for the first time -- along with a bunch of extra "Enhanced Edition" features.

To find out how the game made the conversion from the desktop to the couch, we tasked console-preferred gamer Dave "ko-zee-ii" Kozicki to the task and although there's a few hiccups and it's been a long wait, it looks to have held up ok.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings – Enhanced Edition is an unconventional and layered RPG with a steep learning curve that is not for the uninitiated or faint of heart. Baring a few faltering steps it is a well rounded and thought provoking tale offering far more than its linear progression should allow.
Read on for all the details in this in-depth review.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition for Xbox 360 hits Australian retail shelves on April 18th 2012 and owners of the PC version of The Witcher 2 will be able to upgrade for free to the Enhanced Edition content via gog.com starting April 17th.

I got the boxed PC version (no steam), so how do I go about updating this to the enhanced ed whenever it's available?

If it's like the enhanced edition for the first Witcher, there will t be a downloadable Patch.

However, this time around, they're actually letting boxed copy owners activate with GOG.com for a backup copy. Which -- in addition to being a completely awesome thing to do -- means you'll be able to download the entire Enhanced Edition from them if that's easier.

'm not sure if that gog.com backup thing will mean that they won't release a redistributable upgrade patch as well though.

I loaded up the game to see if the launcher would ask to update, abd had a link down the bottom which said "Enhanced Edition available for pre-download now. Click here to start the update!" It linked me to an "update downloader" which is getting it now.
