And if you're unaware of what The Steam Game Festival is, it's esentially a highlight program for games in development that will make their way to Steam within a year. It's interesting that the digital event will be taking place around when E3 would have been happening -- a smart move by Valve for eyeballs, and a great opportunity for developers to make their mark.

Here's Valve's official line:
The Steam Game Festival is an event that shines a spotlight on games set to be released within the next year. From June 9th - 14th, game developers have the opportunity to show off their upcoming releases to a global gaming audience, giving gamers on Steam the chance to try them out, learn more, and add games to their wishlist!

For developers:

If you have a game that you plan on releasing before the summer of 2021 and are interested in participating with a demo or short playable experience, please register your interest by April 24, 2020. To register, please visit this link for details.

For players:

If you are interested in being notified when the event starts, please visit this link and click the 'remind me' drop-down.
Again, great news for devs, especially up and comers, but hopefully we also see some more platforms and publishers looking to this period to highlight the year(s) ahead on their "to release" list.
